DIN 1.2311/P20 Plastic Mould Steel
Description
1.2311 steel, also known as P20, is a versatile pre-hardened plastic mold steel widely used in mold making and tooling applications. It is delivered at a hardness of approximately 280–320 HB, eliminating the need for further heat treatment and reducing production time. 1.2311 offers good machinability, toughness, and polishability, making it suitable for a wide range of plastic molds, including injection molds and die casting dies. It provides good dimensional stability and can be nitrided or coated for improved wear resistance. Commonly used in the automotive, electronics, and consumer goods industries, 1.2311 is ideal for medium to large mold components with moderate production cycles.
